How to apply to associate degree, diploma, or certificate programs
First-time applicants (or those coming back after two or more semesters off) can follow our step-by-step application guide.
The Embark: Career Interest Inventory will match your interests and abilities to academic programs here at CCCC.
When you meet with your Education Navigator, they will review your Embark results with you to make sure you are on the right path.
All applicants must complete the North Carolina Residency Determination (RDS) before submitting the online CCCC application to determine eligibility for in-state or out-of-state tuition.
Your RDS login will be the same one you use for the online CCCC application. You must finish the RDS before you can submit your CCCC application. Start with the RDS, then proceed with your application online.

Official transcripts must be sent to CCCC directly from the high school and/or previous college(s) you attended for admission to our associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs or if you are using veteran’s benefits.
All High School Equivalency (HSE) diplomas, transcripts, and verification requests for the GED® , HiSET, and TASC tests are processed through DiplomaSender. Please contact Diploma Sender at DiplomaSender or at 855-313-5799 for your transcript requests or queries regarding your transcripts or diploma.
Homeschool administrators must provide proof that the homeschool student is certified by the North Carolina Department of Non-Public Instruction.
What is an official transcript?
A transcript is official when it is received by the college directly from the issuing institution in a sealed envelope or when sent electronically from a secure third-party document provider to admissions@cccc.edu. Homeschool transcripts require documentation of NCDNPE registration.
Contact your current or previous institution to request an official transcript.
Processing Time
Once your official transcripts are received, processing can take up to 7-10 business days or longer during peak registration periods.
Sending Your Transcript
You may send a physical copy of your sealed official transcript to the following address:
Student Records & Registrar Office
1105 Kelly Dr
Sanford, NC 27330
Please submit any placement test scores received within the last ten years.
CCCC accepts SAT, ACT, Asset, Compass, Accuplacer, NCDAP, and NROC's EdReady test scores. If you graduated high school in the last 10 years, your official high school transcript can be used to place you; however, prior placement test scores may qualify for higher-level courses.
