The Food and Nutrition Services Employment & Training (FNS E&T) program is a partnership between Central Carolina Community College and Chatham County DHHS. We are able to assist active FNS/SNAP participants in Chatham County that are ages 16+ to reach their education and employment goals.

NC FNS E&T strives to empower individuals to reach their career potential ​by enabling our trusted partners to provide jobs-driven, skills-based training, education, and support services to both improve the confidence, ​health, and well-being of participants, families, and communities​ and meet the workforce needs of North Carolina.

Benefits

  • Create a plan for reaching your education and employment goals
  • Assist in navigating the admissions enrollment process
  • Provide financial assistance for occupational and curriculum courses, including books, materials, uniforms, and other requirements 
  • Help with creating and updating a resume, writing cover letters, interviewing skills, and connecting with employers 
  • Refer to supportive services and resources that assist in removing educational and employment barriers
  • Assist with completing FNS/SNAP application to determine eligibility and recertification

Program Requirements

  • Be at least 16 years of age 
  • Reside in Chatham County
  • Be eligible for FNS/SNAP benefits in Chatham County
  • Be willing to apply and accept career opportunities
  • Meet with an Education Navigator on a regular basis
