The Emergency Services Training Center is located off Tramway Road in Sanford. The facility provides training for all sectors of law enforcement, fire and rescue service, emergency medical services, and emergency management.
Specifically:
- 385-foot N.C. Highway Patrol VIPER radio tower used for tall-tower rescue training
- Basic Corrections Officer Training
- Basic Law Enforcement Training
- Confined Space Rescue
- Drone Operator Training
- EMS - Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), and Paramedic Initial, and all in-service training needed by EMS, Fire, and Law Enforcement agencies
- Fire - Basic Fire Academy, all in-service and specialty courses needed by firefighters including Emergency Vehicle Driver Certification, Hazardous materials, Technical Rescue, and training on the four-story drill tower and burn building
- Law Enforcement - all in-service training needed by law enforcement agencies, N.C. Department of Adult Corrections and N.C. Division of Adult Probation and Parole, and General Instructor Training
- Motorcycle Safety
- Specialty Driving courses for Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement on a 2.5-mile closed driving range
