Law Enforcement Training

At Central Carolina Community College, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and excellence of law enforcement personnel. Our training programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of agencies, offering in-service training, specialized topic-level instruction, and state-mandated recertification courses. Designed to ensure readiness and compliance, our programs equip law enforcement officers with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles and serve their communities with distinction. 

Offerings

The in-service training section is designed to conduct annual recertification for sworn staff and correctional staff with the cognitive and physical skills needed to retain their certifications in North Carolina.  The courses are required annually to maintain sworn and certified status.

Location: Chatham, Harnett, and Lee counties

This course is required to receive a certified status to assume the responsibility of custody and security of offenders in a county custodial facility.

Completion of these annual recertifications maintain sworn staff’s employment with the various law enforcement agencies in our service area.

 

Complete detention officer certification

Successful completion of this 181-hour training allows the employee to work in the jail setting with direct contact with offenders and be responsible for their custody and security.
