Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society
What is Phi Theta Kappa?
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society is the premiere international honor society for two-year students. PTK’s mission is to “…recognize academic achievement of college students and to provide opportunities for them to grow as scholars and leaders.” The CCCC chapter, Beta Sigma Phi, was founded in Fall 2010. CCCC’s PTK chapter is one of over 1,246 chapters in ten nations, and among 60 chapters in North Carolina.
Our chapter actively engages in the College Project and the Honors in Action Project at the local level. We participate in regional meetings two to three times annually and occasionally attend the national meeting. We also continually seek projects that benefit our school and community, providing students with opportunities to develop their leadership skills.
PTK IS GUIDED BY FOUR HALLMARKS
Scholarship
We Recognize those who excell academically and strive to reach a higher level of learning.
Leadership
We give opportunities for leadership experience and character development.
Service
We emphasize service to others, both on college campuses and in their communities.
Fellowship
We gather a community of like-minded individuals who share ideas and ideals.
