Bio

Jalen spent his childhood growing up in the small town of Pittsboro, NC. He is a proud product of Central Carolina Community College having earned his AA before continuing on to receive his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Jalen is a proud first-generation college student, but after getting waitlisted for his "dream school" during his senior year in high school, he almost lost all motivation to attend college. After speaking with school counselors and advisors, Jalen soon realized that this was just a necessary obstacle that would lead to an amazing journey. During his time in college, Jalen worked both as a lab assistant and a peer advisor assisting students with similar yet different experiences and with this newly developed sense of direction, he decided to pursue a career in higher education so that he could assist students on a deeper level. Jalen enjoys building connections with students and he loves learning the science behind human interactions. In his spare time he enjoys eating Italian food, collecting one of a kind sneakers, and just simply being outside.
