Academic Assistance
Academic Assistance Centers are conveniently located on Chatham, Harnett, and Lee County campuses and offer open use computer labs, free tutoring services for curriculum enrolled students, test proctoring, and assistive technology. Academic Assistance Centers are open Monday-Thursday from 8:00am- 8:00pm, and Fridays from 8:00am- 3:30pm. Students should schedule an appointment for testing services and remember to bring a picture ID to scheduled appointment. Appointments for testing services must be made 72 business hours in advance. Acceptance of appointment request is based on staff and space availability.
Distance Education
STEM Lab
Central Carolina Community College offers students on-demand assistance with science, math, engineering and computer technology classes via the CCCC STEM Lab. Students can receive assistance with developing a better understanding of course objectives, improving study skills, and participating in exam reviews. Services provided by the STEM Lab are free, and no appointment is necessary.
Upswing
Central Carolina Community College offers curriculum enrolled students free 24/7 access to online tutoring through Upswing. Upswing provides real-time online tutoring for a variety of courses, and is a great option for students in both traditional seated courses and those enrolled in distance education courses.
Writing & Reading Center
The Writing and Reading Center at Central Carolina Community College offers students assistance with building strong foundations of essential writing skills and effective reading comprehension skills. Students have access to a range of free services including one-on-one coaching and content specific workshops. Walk-ins are accepted, but appointments are preferred and receive priority. As an added convenience online assistance is available for distance and evening students through the Online Writing Lab: Coaching Request form.
