Understanding the Cost of Attendance

Paying for college involves understanding the cost of attendance and ways to get support in covering those costs. Variables such as full-time versus part-time, in-state tuition versus out-of-state tuition, program fees and supplies, and living expenses all factor into budgeting effectively.

You can create a plan by taking the following steps.

  1. Explore financial aid options. Check for state and institutional financial aid opportunities and begin your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility for grants, loans, and work-study programs.

  2. Apply for scholarships and grants. Unlike private loans, scholarships and grants do not need to be repaid and can significantly reduce college costs.

  3. Understand private loans. CCCC does not participate in the federal student loan program but will accept private educational loans. Students have the right and ability to select the education loan provider of their choice but should understand the terms and repayment obligations.

  4. Budget and manage costs, including tuition, books, housing, food, and other living expenses. With careful planning and consideration of available resources, you can manage the costs effectively. Our easy-to-use cost calculator is available to help you estimate your cost of attendance.
