SANFORD, N.C. – Sheila Holt has received the Central Carolina Community College Adjunct of the Year Award for 2024-2025. Holt is an Electronics Engineering Technology Adjunct Instructor. Presenting the award were Dr. Lisa M. Chapman, CCCC President, and Dr. Kristi Short, CCCC Vice President/Chief Academic Officer.
Sandra Castonguay nominated Holt for the award: “Sheila has been instrumental with teaching electronic classes of all levels. While working a full-time job, she has adjusted her schedule to allow herself to be able to come to campus to teach seated classes. She has worked outside her paid hours to help at recruiting events. She has advised students while in class on job and educational opportunities. She even went to her employer to advise him to hire a student that was looking for a job,” said Castonguay.
“Sheila managed the first multi-program project class for the electronics, computer, laser and mechanical engineering students. … She has a true heart for teaching the students all they need to know and making sure all the students are learning,” said Castonguay.
