PITTSBORO, N.C. - Individuals looking to start a business in Chatham County can enhance their entrepreneurial skills through the Chatham SPARK Program, a dynamic nine-week initiative designed to equip aspiring business owners with the knowledge and tools for success. The application deadline for the program is March 3, 2025.

The Chatham SPARK Program will run from March 11 through May 6, offering hands-on guidance to help participants develop a business plan while gaining valuable insights into financing, legal considerations, marketing, bookkeeping, taxes and more. Classes will take place Monday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. at Central Carolina Community College's Chatham Main Campus, located at 764 West St., Pittsboro, N.C.

Presented by the Central Carolina Community College Small Business Center, Chatham Chamber of Commerce, and Fidelity Bank of Pittsboro, this free program is open to anyone interested in starting a business in Chatham County. However, space is limited to 12 participants, and pre-registration and approval are required.

At the conclusion of the program, participants will have the opportunity to pitch their business plan in hopes of winning a small business grant assistance package. This package could include a reimbursable grant, a one-year Base Level membership to the Chatham Chamber of Commerce, and extensive marketing and business support.
