Health Information Technology
Career Outlook
The career outlook for HIT's is very strong. As the use of technology in healthcare increases, so does the demand for credentialed employees. There are many opportunities for employment in a variety of different healthcare settings, and the potential for advancement is high.
Students can obtain their associate degree and their RHIT credentials, continue on to earn their bachelor's degree and the RHIA credentials, and even complete their education with a master's or doctorate degree in health information management, or a related field. With each advance in education and credentials, a student's employment opportunities and salary potential increase significantly.
