This degree program prepares students to work under the supervision of an attorney in all areas of law, both state and federal. Graduates are eligible to sit for the Paralegal Certification Exam offered by the North Carolina State Bar. Certified paralegals are in high demand by the practicing bar.

The certificate program is intended for the student already in the legal field who desires job advancement opportunities and growth, as well as for the student seeking entry-level positions. The certificate consists of five basic online law classes. Note: not eligible  to sit for the Certification Exam.

Length: 2 Semesters

Students not only learn from textbooks, but utilize the law library with many North Carolina law resources, such as the North Carolina General Statutes, North Carolina Reports, and Douglas Forms. Federal law volumes are also available to assist students in learning. Finally, the program offers the popular online research tool Lexis.
