SANFORD - The Central Carolina Community College Emergency Medical Services-Paramedic program has been awarded accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

"Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accreditation is essential for our Emergency Medical Services-Paramedic program and gives credibility to the program for meeting nationally established standards and allows Paramedics to obtain employment throughout the nation," said Lisa Godfrey, CCCC Dean of Health Sciences and Human Services.

"CAAHEP ensures that the Emergency Medical Services program meets the guidelines required to effectively ensure that students are receiving a quality education to prepare them for the workforce and to become Paramedics," said Godfrey. "In turn, this can lead to improved outcomes for the patients served by graduates of the Central Carolina Community College Paramedic program."

The Paramedic program offers classes at the Emergency Service Training Center in Lee County and at the Harnett Health Sciences Center.
