SANFORD - Elissa Neal and Brooke Young have signed letters of intent to play volleyball at Central Carolina Community College.
Neal, of Lee County High School, and Young, of Lee Christian High School, were teammates on the Brick City 18's FireStormz club volleyball team.
"Elissa is a talented player and athlete who will be able to wear many hats if needed. Elissa's primary role with be to lead our defense in the libero position, however, she is a very good attacker and also possesses the ability to orchestrate the Cougar offense from the setter position," said CCCC Volleyball Coach Bill Carter. "I am very happy to have her on the roster and look forward watching her contribution to the Cougar volleyball program. Elissa is an outstanding student/athlete and will strengthen our team/family environment at Central Carolina Community College."
Her parents are Mike Neal and Tanya Neal.
"Brooke will anchor one of the outside hitter positions for the Cougars in 2016," said Carter. "She is an outstanding all-round athlete who will bring strength to the team with attacking, solid passing, and outstanding serve. Brooke also fits in to our team/family concept with her great personality and sense of humor. I am excited about the strengths that Brooke will bring to the Cougar volleyball program athletically, socially, and academically in the fall of 2016."
Her parents are Brit Young and Cindy Ammons.
Central Carolina Community College volleyball participates in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III.
