CCCC Harnett graduates law enforcement cadets

Guest speaker for the graduation was Detective Steven Brewington, a 2002 graduate of the program. Brewington served with the Lillington Police Department and is now an investigator with the Holly Springs P.D. He is also assigned to the FBI Cybercrimes Task Force.

LILLINGTON - Central Carolina Community College graduated six cadets from its Harnett County Basic Law Enforcement Training program in a ceremony at its Harnett Campus April 27.

The students completed 624 hours of law enforcement training, including areas such as knowledge of laws, firearms, first responder medical care, and arrest techniques. They also passed a rigorous 12-week physical training program and a four-hour written comprehensive examination administered by the N.C. Criminal Justice Training and Standards Division.

The graduates are Spencer Elmore, of Dunn; Eric Sibbach, of Broadway; Jadrien Spinner, of Bunnlevel; Nicole Dean, of Fuquay-Varina; Javier Sosa Valle, of Cameron; and Robert Gautier, of Coats.

Lt. Kenny Lee, BLET qualified assistant for Harnett County, guest speaker Detective Steven Brewington, and Faye Phillips, BLET program director, presented awards for outstanding achievement during the training. Dean received the Top State Exam Award and the Top Physical Fitness Award; Gautier, Top Gun Award; and Soso, Best Police Officers Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) Award.

Brewington, a 2002 graduate of the program, served with the Lillington Police Department and is now an investigator with the Holly Springs P.D. He is also assigned to the FBI Cybercrimes Task Force.
