CCCC West Harnett offers vegetable production

SANFORD —An Introduction to Sustainable Vegetable Production class will be held at Central Carolina Community College’s West Harnett Center from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Wednesdays from May 6 through July 22. There will be no class June 17 and 24.
The continuing education course will discuss herbs, cut flowers, and summer vegetable crops. It will also cover weed management, insect and disease prevention, cover crops and crop rotation.
The enrollment fee, textbook, and a kit of garden tools and supplies are provided by an N.C. Tobacco Fund Skill-Up Grant for those accepted into the class. Those who are interested but may have to miss one or two classes are still welcome to enroll.
