PITTSBORO, N.C. - Central Carolina Community College (CCCC), in partnership with the Center for Renewable Energy in Advanced Technology Education (CREATE), proudly hosted the second NC STEM Educator Energy Institute from July 16-18, 2024. The event brought together 12 dedicated educators from high schools and community colleges for an intensive three-day workshop focused on introductory photovoltaic skills and energy basics.

Participants engaged in hands-on labs and interactive sessions, gaining valuable insights and practical experience in the field of renewable energy. This initiative aims to enhance the educators' ability to teach and inspire the next generation of students in the growing field of sustainable energy.

"This year's Energy Institute was a great success," said CCCC's Andrew McMahan, who is a Co-Principal Investigator for CREATE. "The skills and knowledge attendees gained during the workshop will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the educators and their students."

The NC STEM Educator Energy Institute underscores the commitment of Central Carolina Community College and CREATE to support STEM education and promote sustainable energy education in the classroom and beyond. By equipping educators with the necessary tools and knowledge, the event aims to foster a more energy-conscious and environmentally responsible future and introduce students to the career possibilities in the renewable energy field.
