Over 60 individuals representing local businesses and economic development partners convened at the Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) E. Eugene Moore Manufacturing and Biotechnology Solutions Center on Thursday, June 20, for an exclusive open house event. The gathering celebrated the unveiling of the new Industry Skills Training Lab, a pivotal component of Phase 1 of the Moore Center's renovation. This state-of-the-art resource is equipped with cutting-edge technology and advanced equipment, now available for local employers to train their maintenance workforce.

The lab enables CCCC to offer training solutions aimed at upskilling existing employees and attracting new talent from the region. Training modules encompass a broad spectrum of topics including basic electrical work, hydraulics and pneumatics, troubleshooting techniques, PLC programming, blueprint interpretation, motor controls, robotics, robot safety protocols, basic robot programming, vision systems, and more.

Attendees also had the opportunity to preview the latest architectural renderings for the Moore Center's upcoming renovations, including the highly anticipated Biotechnology Building. They engaged in discussions with architects and CCCC leadership to learn more about the ambitious plans, and were given an exclusive sneak peek into the future machining lab. Experts were also present to interact with attendees and demonstrate the training capabilities of each piece of equipment.

Manufacturing employers interested in learning more about training opportunities should contact the college at ctp@cccc.edu or tinyurl.com/moore-training.
