SANFORD - Three Central Carolina Community College Veterinary Medical Technician students have been awarded the Zoetis Foundation/American Veterinary Medical Foundation Veterinary Technician Student Scholarship.

The students are Madalyn Justice of Apex, Corinna Smith of Raleigh, and Lauren Sparrow of Chapel Hill.

The Zoetis Foundation is awarding up to 270 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to eligible veterinary technician students enrolled full-time in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology, veterinary nursing, or animal health technology program in the United States or Puerto Rico. The Zoetis Foundation has partnered with the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) who is administering this program.

"Being a member of the amazing CCCC VMT team is such an honor. I love teaching and helping all of our students achieve their dreams - it's beyond rewarding," said Dr. Kim Browning, CCCC VMT Department Chair. "I'm proud of each of these students, on many levels, and I believe they will do wonderful things in their future careers."

The CCCC Veterinary Medical Technology program is one of five VMT programs in North Carolina and is the longest running and oldest VMT program in the state.
