DUNN - Opportunity was the big winner as golfers wrapped up the Ninth Central Carolina Community College Foundation Harnett Golf Classic April 20 at Chicora Golf Club.
The Classic combines fun with the serious goal of raising funds to assist CCCC students who need financial help to stay in college. The proceeds will be used to fund scholarships and to support other needs of the college.
The Harnett County Golf Classic was a Four-Person Captain's Choice. The winners, team scores, and sponsors were:
First Place: 53 - James Harris, Jody Yarborough, Graham Thompson, David Herring - Sponsored by United Community Bank.
Second Place: 54 - Kyle Turlington, Will Peregoy, Johnny Peregoy, Dan Jordan - Sponsored by Turlington Real Estate.
Third Place: 55 - Mark Eason, Collin Peregoy, Alex Moss, Jason Bethune - Sponsored by First Bank of Lillington.
Fourth Place: 55 - Steve Malone, Chris Hockaday, Nick Skatell, Fred Rambeaut - Sponsored by Diversified Service Contracting, Inc.
Hole-in-one sponsor was John Hiester Automotive Group. Lunch was provided by Broad Street Deli.
The CCCC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization affiliated with, but independent of, the college. It receives donations of money and equipment on behalf of CCCC and uses them to promote the educational mission of the college and assist students through scholarships and grants.
