SANFORD - Chad Potts has been a busy man since his 2007 graduation from Central Carolina Community College.
The Associate in Applied Sciences (Business Administration) graduate finds himself in dual roles as a partner in two very different kinds of businesses - Munday Scientific and Mrs. Lacy's Magnolia House. "I love both of my businesses and enjoy working more than the average person," said Potts, who has lived and worked in Sanford his entire life.
"Munday Scientific is my primary business. We service and sell lab equipment with a focus in microscopes," said Potts. "I focus most of my time on the sales and marketing side of the business.
"Mrs. Lacy's has always been a large part of my life. I help my Grandmother Faye Schulz with daily operations and direct all social media/marketing activities."
Potts adds that growing up in family owned businesses has helped him to get a close-up view of work ethic.
He gives praise to his wife Samantha, who he married in October 2018. "She is extremely supportive and pushes me in all aspects of life," said Potts.
Potts also has much praise for his Central Carolina Community College education. He says CCCC did an excellent job at preparing him for the workplace. "CCCC provided very direct learning for what I was interested in," said Potts, adding that the college provided him with an internship at PolySi Technologies. "That job helped me learn the basics of sales. That laid a very solid foundation."
When asked what he thinks makes CCCC such a special place in the Central Carolina area, Potts notes: "Their network of small businesses. CCCC has deep roots. If you are willing to ask for help, they will provide you with all the help you need."
