Husband and wife Terry Mann (left) and Madeleine Bassi moved from Wisconsin to the Sandhills area for work. They weren't getting anywhere with their job search, so they enrolled in Central Carolina Community College's Career Readiness Certification program. The CRC is an assessment-based credential that gives employers and job seekers a measure of key basic workplace skills. The assessments certify that a person is qualified to perform successfully in the workplace at specific levels of reading, math, and information location. With their Career Readiness Certificates in hand, both said they have experienced positive results. Bassi now manages a group home and Mann, who is continuing his job search, feels CRC certification is definitely a bonus for his resume.
