CCCC Firefighter Academy graduates 18

The Firefighter Academy of Central Carolina Community College graduated 18 cadets during an Aug. 15 ceremony at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. Graduates, and their sponsoring agencies, were (front, from left) Brandon Mills, Northwest Pocket Fire Department; Stacey Zoruba, Carolina Trace Fire Department; Courtney Walker, Benhaven Emergency Services; Jacob Cox, Lemon Springs Fire Department; Jeremy Dollar, Tramway Fire Department; Capt. Wilbert "Tramp" Dunn, Firefighter Academy coordinator; Christopher Way, Deep River Fire Department; Martin Gunter, Northview Fire Department; Katie Bond, Spout Springs Emergency Services; Christopher Binkley, Lemon Springs Fire Department; and (back, from left) Ethan Tart, Lemon Springs Fire Department; Jacob Jones, Deep River Fire Department; Ryan Stack, Northview Fire Department; Roman Prince, Carolina Trace Fire Department; Arnold Muleshe, Stephen Young, and Aaron Lympany, Apex Fire Department; Brian Elliott, Carolina Trace Fire Department; and Scott Bedoe, Moncure Fire Department. Lympany was valedictorian of the class and also received the Leadership Award; Elliott received the Most Improved Award. Over a seven-month period, the graduates completed 833 hours of intensive fire fighting, safety and survival, physical agility, and emergency medical technician training at the college's Emergency Services Training Center, in Sanford.
