CCCC graduates seven from BLET day program

Central Carolina Community College's Basic Law Enforcement Training day program graduated seven cadets during a ceremony May 13 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. Pictured (from left) are graduates Jacob Davis, of Lillington, who received the Most Improved Physical Fitness Award; Benjamin Warren, of Pittsboro, who received the Highest Grade Point Average Award; Nicholas Kehagias, of Sanford, who received the Fastest Police Officer Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) and Highest State Exam Average awards; BLET Director Robert Powell; Joseph Myatt, of Spring Lake; Jeremy Timmons, of Pittsboro, who received the Jimmy Collins Memorial Top Gun and Highest Grade Point Average awards; and David Green and Ellmar Benitez, both of Sanford. The cadets completed 624 hours of law enforcement training, passed all 35 blocks of instruction, passed a rigorous 12-week physical training program, and passed a four-hour written comprehensive state examination administered by the state Criminal Justice Training and Standards Division. All graduates are qualified to be certified law enforcement officers in North Carolina.
