Excellence honored at CCCC awards program

Mike Neal (left), Central Carolina Community College director of Student Activities, presents the college’s Ambassador Service Award to Seth Tom, of Lee County, during the college’s Academic Excellence Awards program May 1 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center, in Sanford. Almost 90 graduating students were honored for outstanding work and service during the event. Tom also received the North Carolina Community College System’s ‘Great Within the 58’ Academic Excellence Award. Only one student from each of the state’s 58 community colleges is selected for the award each year. He was also recognized for being listed in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges.
