In April 2012, the Central Carolina Community College Foundation inaugurated its Rabbit Run 5K at the college's Chatham County Campus, in Pittsboro. People turned out in large numbers to participate and enjoy the fun and healthy activity that also raised money for scholarships for Chatham students at the college. The 2013 Rabbit Run 5K and Children's Fun Run take place April 13. The Rabbit Run starts at the campus, 764 West St., winds around several streets in town and returns to the campus. The entry fee for the Rabbit Run is $25 until April 10. Those who register by then will receive T-shirts and other goodies. The entry fee will be $30 on race day. The entry fee for the Children's Fun Run is $10. Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers, plus the top male and female finishers in each age group. The registration form is available at www.cccc.edu/RabbitRun5K. Mail the form and payment to CCCC Foundation, Attn: Emily Hare, 1105 Kelly Drive, Sanford, NC 27330.
