CCCC hosts Alternative Fuel Vehicle Day

A Nissan Leaf 100-percent electric car will be among the alternative fuel vehicles on display at the Odyssey: National Alternative Fuel Vehicle Day Thursday, Oct. 18, at Central Carolina Community College's Chatham County Campus, 764 West St., Pittsboro. Learn about the exciting future and importance of non-gasoline-powered vehicles at this free event, which runs 3 p.m.-6 p.m. A panel of experts will discuss the state of alternative fuels in North Carolina. Tours of the college's green facilities will be given. The event is cosponsored by the college and the Triangle Clean Cities Coalition. For more information, go to www.cccc.edu. Central Carolina Community College's weatherization program van is powered by biofuels, some of which are produced in the college's biofuels laboratory at its Chatham County Campus.
