CCCC honors excellence at awards program

English instructor David Watson (left) presents the Academic Excellence in English/Humanities Award to Jessica Cooper, of Lee County, at Central Carolina Community College's May 2 Academic Excellence Awards program at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. Cooper also received the Outstanding Student in Spanish Award and Who's Who Among Students at America's Colleges and Universities. She was also recognized for receiving the North Carolina Community College System's Academic Excellence Award. Only one student from each of the state's 58 community colleges receives that award each year.
