CCCC, Harnett break ground for new Health Sciences Building

Central Carolina Community College and Harnett County broke ground April 12 for the college's new 50,200-square-foot Health Sciences Building in Brightwater Science and Technology Campus, Lillington. Turning the first shovelfuls of dirt are (from left) Red Rock Developments CEO William Smith, CCCC Harnett Provost Bill Tyson, CCCC President Bud Marchant, Harnett EDC Director Phyllis Owens, Harnett Commissioner Dan Andrews, Harnett Health Systems President/CEO Ken Bryan, Harnett Commissioners Chairman Tim McNeill, Harnett Commissioners Beatrice Hill and Jim Burgin, and CCCC Board of Trustees Chairman Julian Philpott. The facility, which will open fall 2013, will provide state-of-the-art training in the health care field.
