CCCC celebrates 2010 spring graduation

Donna Flowers (center), of Lee County, receives her Associate in Applied Science in Accounting from Central Carolina Community College President Bud Marchant during the college’s May 13 Spring Commencement at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. Flowers, in a wheelchair because of a broken foot, gets an assist from fellow graduate Alex Dawson (right), of Harnett, who received his AAS in Laser and Photonics Technology. The college held morning and afternoon commencement ceremonies because of the number of graduates. Flowers and Dawson were the speakers at the morning program.

Central Carolina Community College graduates Emily Needham (left), of Chatham County, and Tanya Haislip, of Lee County, are all smiles following the college’s graduation ceremony May 13 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. Both received their Associate in Applied Science in Accounting. While students, Needham served as a Student Ambassador and Haislip was SGA president.
Richard Bogart, of Chatham County, gets a big hug from his wife, Kristina, following the Central Carolina Community College May 13 Spring Commencement at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. Bogart had worked in injection molding for more than 17 years before being laid off due to the recession. He came to CCCC and earned his Associate in Applied Science in Electronics Engineering Technology and is now looking forward to a new career.
