Central Carolina Community College honored its best during an All Personnel Meeting April 27 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. (From left) Renee Dusenbury, of Sanford, reference and audiovisual librarian, was named Operational and Support Staff Employee of the Year; Jamie Tyson, of Sanford, Huskins program coordinator and electronics instructor, received the Instructor of the Year-Excellence in Teaching Award; and Dawn Harris, of Buies Creek, academic assistance coordinator, was honored as Administrative and Supervisory Staff Employee of the Year. Each received an award plaque, one-year reserved parking space, and a $500 check from the local business sponsor of each award. They became the newest members of the college’s prestigious Circle of Excellence and their names will be engraved on the permanent “Circle of Excellence” wall plaque at the college. Tyson and Harris will now compete for North Carolina Community College System state-level awards against local award winners from each of the state’s other 57 community colleges.
Jamie Tyson, of Sanford
Central Carolina Community College honored its best during an All Personnel Meeting April 27 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. Jamie Tyson (holding check, left), of Sanford, the Huskins program coordinator and electronics instructor, was selected by her peers to receive the Instructor of the Year-Excellence in Teaching Award. Wilkinson Automotive, Inc., in Sanford, sponsored a $500 award check, which was presented by Wil Wilkinson (right), company president. Assisting in the presentation was college President Bud Marchant (behind check, center). Members of Tyson’s family (back left) were also at the presentation. As an honoree, Tyson joins the college’s prestigious Circle of Excellence. Her name will be engraved on the Circle of Excellence wall plaque at the college. She will now compete for the North Carolina Community College System’s Instructor of the Year-Excellence in Teaching Award against instructors of the year chosen by each of the state’s other 57 community colleges.
Renee Dusenbury, of Sanford

Dusenbury, of Sanford, was honored by her peers as Operational and Support Staff Employee of the Year. BB&T’s Sanford Branch sponsored her $500 award and Brian McLeod (right), Business Services Officer, presented it. Assisting in the presentation was college President Bud Marchant (holding check, left). Members of Dusenbury’s family (back) were present for the award presentation. As an honoree, Dusenbury joins the college’s prestigious Circle of Excellence.
Dawn Harris, of Buies Creek

Dawn Harris (center front), of Buies Creek, was honored as Administrative and Supervisory Staff Employee of the Year. Wilson and Reives Attorneys, of Sanford, sponsored her $500 award check. Bill Wilson (right), a partner with the firm and a college trustee, presented it. Assisting in the presentation was college President Bud Marchant (holding check, left). Members of Harris’s family (back) were present for the award presentation. As an honoree, Harris joins the college’s prestigious Circle of Excellence. She will now compete against winners from each of the state’s other 57 community colleges for the North Carolina Community College System’s Administrative and Supervisory Staff Employee of the Year Award.
