Medical Laboratory Technology
The medical laboratory technology program is offered in collaboration with Sandhills Community College. Students interested in this program can start their journey at CCCC by completing prerequisite courses and then apply and transfer to the college of their choice when they are ready. This program prepares students to perform the clinical laboratory procedures in chemistry, hematology, hemostasis, microbiology, urinalysis, and immunohematology needed to enter the field of medical laboratory technology.
Getting Started
- Schedule an appointment with a CCCC Health Sciences Education Navigator
- Sign a Letter of Intent to transfer (provided by your Education Navigator)
- Enroll in your general education classes
- When you are close to completing all the general education classes, your Educational Navigator will assist you with the application process to transfer to the school of your choice.

- Anatomy & Physiology (or BIO 094) or Chemistry is required with a grade of C or better verified by college or high school transcript.

Other Program Requirements
- HESI A2 (Admission Assessment Exam): A 75+ cumulative score is required to apply in Early Consideration. Students who do not achieve a 75 may apply in Late Consideration. Students may only take the HESI A2 twice in an academic year (September-May). HESI A2 scores for tests taken within the last three years will be reviewed.
