DUNN - Golfers, grab your clubs for a day of fun and fellowship for a good cause as the Central Carolina Community College Foundation hosts its Fifth Annual Harnett County Golf Classic on Thursday, March 29, at Chicora Golf Club.

The proceeds from the Golf Classic will be used to help provide scholarships and other financial assistance. Last year, the Foundation assisted over 220 deserving students at CCCC.

Travis Bailey and Parrish Daughtry are tournament co-chairmen. Other tournament committee members are Lee Malone and Brad Salmon, as well as CCCC President Dr. T. Eston Marchant.

Lunch will be served at noon, and the shotgun start is 1 p.m.

The format for the Harnett County Golf Classic is four-person Captain's Choice Flighted. Prizes will be awarded to top teams in each flight, as well as the winners of the longest drive, closest-to-pin, and putting contest.

Four-person team packages are $400 and include green fees, cart rental, putting contest, and lunch. Sponsorships are available at various levels: a $100 Silver Sponsor receives sponsorship recognition; a $500 Gold Sponsor receives sponsorship recognition and one foursome; a $1,000 Platinum Sponsor receives two teams and sponsorship recognition; while the $3,000 Presenting Sponsor receives four teams and major sponsorship recognition.

"We are so grateful for the support we have received in Harnett County," said Emily Hare, executive director of the CCCC Foundation. "Harnett County has given so much to us and we will use all funds raised in the tournament to go directly back to our students, faculty, and staff. We look forward to the event and hope everyone will come out and join us!"
