SANFORD - Are you interested in learning pottery? How about writing a killer mystery or taking a BBQ cooking class? Thinking about a new career in the medical field?
Registration has begun for a variety of short-term career training and personal interest classes offered through Central Carolina Community College's Continuing Education program. The fall schedule includes a mixture of new and returning classes in the areas such as Agriculture & Natural Resources, Artistry & Craftsmanship, Business & Leadership, Creative Writing, Culinary Arts & Hospitality, Health Occupations, Online Career Training, Industrial & Manufacturing Trades, and Photography. Classes take place at several locations throughout Chatham, Harnett and Lee counties.
Something fresh on this season's schedule is the lineup of new online Career Training classes offered through CCCC's Ed2Go partnership. With online courses, you can study at your convenience from the comfort of home, while learning skills that can help you enter or advance in some of today's hottest job markets. Popular career training programs include: CompTIA A+ Certification Training, Medical Transcription, Event Management and Design, Human Resources Professional, and Project Management. For a complete listing of online career training programs, visit careertraining.ed2go.com/cccc. A great perk of the online career-training program is that you can start at any time and have course access for up to six months.
Another exciting area that is showing growth in this semester's schedule is the introduction of new, parallel course offerings. Parallel courses provide opportunities for individuals to enroll in select curriculum classes without formally applying or having the intention of earning a degree. As a continuing education student, you will take the same class alongside curriculum students. Classes offered this fall include Business Ethics, Customer Service, Healthy Cooking Essentials, Introduction to Baking, Introduction to Business, Engineering Materials, Natural Chef Certification, Organic Crop Production, Personal Finance, Tractors and Farm Machinery, and From Seed to Plant. Taking these classes through continuing education will earn CEUs, however, students earning a grade of "C" or better may have the class articulated for college credit should they decide to later pursue a degree at Central Carolina Community College.
With the arrival of some noteworthy new courses and opportunities, Central Carolina Community College continues to offer their most popular continuing education classes such as Nurse Aide, Pharmacy Technician, Emergency Medical Technician, Phlebotomy, Notary Public, Effective Teacher Training, Vehicle Safety Inspection, Forklift Training with OSHA 10, and Basic Motorcycle Rider courses.
