SANFORD - Golfers, grab your clubs for a day of fun and fellowship for a good cause as the Central Carolina Community College Foundation hosts its 28th Annual Lee County Golf Classic on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Sanford Municipal Golf Course.
Since 1989, the Foundation has hosted an annual Golf Classic in Lee County, raising funds for scholarships and other financial assistance for the college's students.
For the fourth year, the Foundation has hosted two additional Golf Classics in Chatham and Harnett counties.
"We look forward to having the 28th Annual CCCC Foundation Golf Classic to be held at Sanford Municipal Golf Course on Sept. 20. It has been exciting to see this tournament grow to be one of the largest tournament in Lee County," said Phil Bradley, tournament chairman. "On behalf of all the CCCC Foundation, we would like to thank all our sponsors, players, board members, students, and staff who help to make this tournament a great success. Come out and join us on Sept. 20."
There will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., with lunch served.
The format for the Lee County Golf Classic is four-person Captain's Choice. Top teams in each flight will receive prizes. There also will be contests for longest drive, closest-to-pin, and putting.
Sponsorships are available at various levels: $200 Silver Sponsor includes sponsorship recognition; $600 Gold Sponsor includes one foursome and sponsorship recognition; and $1,000 Platinum Sponsor includes two foursomes and sponsorship recognition. There also is a $500 Foursome Package, which includes green fees, cart rental, entry to putting contest, prizes, refreshments, and lunch.
"We are so grateful for the support we have received in Lee County," said Emily Hare, Executive Director of the CCCC Foundation. "Lee County has given so much to us and we will use all funds raised in the tournament to go directly back to support our students, faculty, and staff. We look forward to the event and hope everyone will come out and join us!"

The CCCC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization affiliated with, but independent of, Central Carolina Community College.
