CCCC graduates 10 from BLET program

SANFORD - Ten Central Carolina Community College Basic Law Enforcement Training cadets graduated during May 22 exercises at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center.

Graduates were Lindsey Baker of Wilmington, Cassie Brafford of Sanford, Casey Burton of Cameron, Tabatha Gerry of Carthage, Austin Hubbard of Aberdeen, Dominick Lisek of Sanford, Bradley McKinney of Sanford, Carmen Mitchell of Lillington, Mark Musumarra of Sanford, and Jonathan Thomas of Pittsboro.

Several of the graduates were recognized for outstanding achievement during their training. They were: Most Improved Physical Fitness - Lindsey Baker; Fastest Police Officers Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) - Chase/ Apprehension - Dominick Lisek; Fastest Police Officers Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) - Rescue - Jonathan Thomas; Jimmy Collins Top Gun Award - Mark Musumarra; Highest Course Grade Point Average - Lindsey Baker; and Highest State Exam - Austin Hubbard.

Officer Benson D. Wise, of the City of Sanford Police Department, delivered the graduation remarks. Class Response was by Jonathan Thomas, Class Leader.

The college's BLET program is under the direction of Robert Powell, who awarded graduation certificates.

Sponsoring agencies for the BLET class were the Aberdeen Police Department, Broadway Police Department, Chatham County Sheriff's Office, Erwin Police Department, Lillington Police Department, Moore County Sheriff's Office, N.C. State Park and Recreation Jordan Lake, N.C. State Park and Recreation Raven Rock, and Vass Police Department.
