SANFORD - Khazhay Bowman, Spencer Thompson, and Skylar Whitton have signed letters of intent to play volleyball at Central Carolina Community College.

Bowman is a senior at James Wood High School in Winchester, Va.

"I am looking forward to the athleticism that Khazhay will bring to the Cougars," said CCCC Volleyball Coach Bill Carter. "Khazhay is a very strong and quick middle blocker with versatility to play other positions. Khazhay will bring a dynamic attack to the middle and provide strength to the Cougar block."

Thompson is a senior at Richlands High School in Richlands, N.C.

"Spencer is a 6'1" middle blocker who will give the Cougars something we have not had for several seasons, a blocker that can deter our opponents' middle attack," said Carter. "I am thrilled to have Spencer on the roster and excited to see her bring strength to our play at the net both offensively and defensively."

Whitton is a senior at Lee County High School in Sanford, N.C.

"I am very excited about what Skylar will bring to the Cougar volleyball program -- power," said Carter. "Skylar is a 5'10" outside hitter who loves to hit the volleyball. She has a long club volleyball history. Skylar also has a very skilled and powerful serve that should result in many points for the Cougars."

Central Carolina Community College volleyball participates in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III.
