SANFORD - Central Carolina Community College hosted a Laser & Photonics weekend workshop on Dec. 3 at the Lee Main Campus.
As part of CCCC's continued efforts to offer new and innovative weekend programs to students, the Laser & Photonics workshop added a laser kit as part of the workshop to give student a realistic view of how to handle and work with lasers.
During the workshop, students participated in "hands-on" technology learning activities, and explored and experimented with the properties of light.
In attendance were participants from local Homeschool communities, Lee Early College, the CCCC Career and College Promise program via Western Harnett High School, and students from Harnett Central, SanLee and Overhills middle schools. Participants were Eriq Beal, Christopher Blalock, Walter Donahue, Alexander Green, Andrew Hunter, Jacob Rector, and Landen Shockley.
Gary Beasley, Lead Instructor of Central Carolina Community College's Lasers & Photonics Technology program, and second-year Laser & Photonics students Cameron Childress, Dustin Krombach, and Scott Parker provided instruction at the workshop.
