SANFORD - Jonathan Sisk and Frank Scutiere are the newest members of the Central Carolina Community College athletics program.
Sisk will serve as the college's Director of Athletics and Student Activities, and Scutiere will serve as the women's basketball coach.
Sisk comes to CCCC after spending the prior three years as the athletics director of Barber-Scotia College in Concord. Barber-Scotia quadrupled its National All-Academic Team representation during his tenure, as well as drastically improved retention and graduation rates of student-athletes.
Sisk was born in Greenwood, S.C., and attended Ninety Six High School in Ninety Six, S.C. He graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a Bachelor's of Arts in Sport Management and continued his studies at Wingate University where he attained a Master's of Education in Sport Administration.
"Jonathan Sisk is a great addition to the CCCC family," said Heather Willett, CCCC Dean of Student Support Services. "Coming from a four-year private school setting, he has done a bit of everything in athletics and activities. He is very knowledgeable about rules and regulations, and, most importantly, he believes in the concept of student first, athlete second."
Scutiere has been a high school and middle school basketball coach at Overhills. As an assistant coach at the high school, the team went undefeated in the Cape Fear Conference and had an overall record of 18-7. In three years coaching the middle school girls' team, his record was 26-10 with two second-place finishes and one conference championship.
Scutiere is a PE/Health teacher in the Harnett County School System. He has a Bachelor's Degree from S.U.N.Y Brockport and a Master's in Sports Recreation from Ohio University. Originally from upstate New York, Scutiere moved to North Carolina in 2006.
"I am excited about having Coach Scutiere lead the CCCC women's basketball team," said Willett. "He has a successful track record as a coach and teacher. I think that what stands out the most about Coach Scutiere is his great enthusiasm for building positive experiences for our student-athletes."
