SANFORD - Have you thought about seeking higher education but you're limited to night classes?
Central Carolina Community College offers the opportunity for people to achieve degrees, diplomas or certificates through its evening program.
Registration is under way for the next evening program classes, which begin Jan. 12.
"CCCC offers options and choices for today's busy student," said Mitchell Carr, CCCC's Coordinator for Evening Programs.
"If you're working, if you have a family and feel like there's no possible way to go back to school, we offer those avenues where you can," said Mike Beck, CCCC's Dean of Student Learning. "We're offering a very affordable and flexible system here that allows students to meet their goals."
The college offers three evening program degrees -- Associate in Arts Degree, Associated in Applied Science degree in Cosmetology, and Associate in Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice Technology.
Diplomas are offered in Barbering, Business Management, Computer-Integrated Machining, and Cosmetology.
Certificate programs are available in Barbering, Basic Law Enforcement Training, BioQuality Technology, Bioprocess Technology, Business Operations, Entrepreneur, Manager Trainee, Computer Hardware/Troubleshooting Repair, Internet and Computing Core-IC3, Computer-Integrated Machining, Cosmetology Instructor, Cosmetology, Early Childhood Administration, Family Home & Early Childcare, Early Childhood - Infant/Toddler Care, Esthetics Instructor, Esthetics, Human Resource Management, Electrical Controls, Industrial Hydraulic, and Programmable Logic Controllers.
The college also offers distance and blended class programs, as well as transfer programs available through N.C. State University and N.C. Wesleyan College.
Those who are interested in the evening college must submit an application. Admissions counselors are available for assistance.
Evening college students can apply for financial aid. Also, free childcare is available, with limited space available.
