SILER CITY - A visit by Santa Claus and lighting of the Christmas tree all added to the festivities Dec. 2 as Central Carolina Community College hosted a Christmas Tree Lighting celebration at its Siler City Center.
CCCC Foundation President George Lucier read the holiday classic, "'Twas the Night Before Christmas." Hot cocoa and cookies were served. Charlee Cougar, the college's mascot, greeted visitors. Entertainment was provided by the CCCC Christmas Carolers.
Following the story, the countdown began and the CCCC Christmas tree was officially lit for the holiday season.
