Central Carolina Community College, known for its academics and cutting-edge programs, showed its lighter and fun side on Feb. 27 as some students and staff joined in the latest YouTube 'Harlem Shake' video meme craze. Some donned costumes or used props representing programs of the college, such as a cow for Veterinary Medical Technology or a wheelchair and crutches for Nursing. Others just wore fun costumes. For 30 seconds, they grooved to the tune 'Harlem Shake' by electronic musician Baauer. The event, held in the Lee County Campus plaza, drew an appreciative audience. The 'Harlem Shake' video was posted on Facebook about 4 p.m. on Feb. 27. As of 9 a.m. Feb. 28, 2,151 people had seen the posting and some had shared it on their Facebook page.
