Magazine accepting literary submissions

11.15.2005 • Arts & Entertainment, Clubs, Curriculum Programs

SANFORD - The Red Clay Review - the literary magazine of Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) - is seeking to publish a variety of voices from both within and around the college and is accepting submissions from students, faculty and local residents.

The magazine is looking for interesting and unique voices in fiction, nonfiction and poetry for consideration in the publication's second issue, which will be published in April.

There are a few submission guidelines for the Red Clay Review. Applicants should be CCCC affiliates (including current students, former students, distance students, faculty and staff) or a resident in the college's service area - Chatham, Harnett, and Lee counties.

Prose submissions are limited to 1,500 words and should be typed and double-spaced. Poetry is limited to three submissions per applicant.

The name, address and phone number of the submitter and approximate word count for each piece should be listed in the upper left-hand corner of the first page of each submission.

Electronic submissions are preferred but not required. Submissions will be accepted from November 1 to February 1, 2006, and the magazine will be available at the beginning of April.

To submit a literary work, contact Kim Overcash (kovercash@cccc.edu) on the Chatham campus, Dean Roughton (dmroughton@cccc.edu) on the Harnett campus or Lars Hamilton (lhamilton@cccc.edu) on the Lee campus.

For more information, contact Ty Stumpf at jstumpf@cccc.edu or (919) 718-7376 or Roughton at (910) 814-8831.
