CHAPEL HILL - A recent graduate of the Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) Pottery and Sculpture program will have her work on display and for sale this month at an art show sponsored by The Women's Center.
Randi Jean Veiberg's work will be exhibited in the The Women's Center's 22nd annual juried art show and sale - Through Women's Eyes, By Women's Hands - February 17-26 at the Sheraton Chapel Hill Hotel.
Veiberg, the first student to earn an associate in applied science degree through the pottery and sculpture program at CCCC, now teaches the curriculum's exhibit design class in Siler City.
A Raleigh resident and up-and-coming artist, Veiberg credits her CCCC instructors for giving her confidence in her work.
The largest juried show of its kind in the Southeast, Through Women's Eyes, By Women's Hands is a celebration of the vision and voice of North Carolina women artists.
Jurors for this year's show are Sally Bowen Prange, a ceramic artist whose works have been featured at the National Collection of American Art at the Smithsonian, Institution and John Rosenthal, a photographer whose works have been exhibited throughout North Carolina and the Southeast.
Tickets are on sale now for the February 17 Opening Night Preview Party, as well as the luncheon, featuring Sara Foster of Foster's Market, on Friday, February 25. Forty percent of the proceeds from the art sales and the proceeds from the events surrounding the art show will benefit The Women's Center.
