SANFORD, N.C. - Central Carolina Community College has announced that it has earned the 2024-2025 Military Friendly(R) School designation. CCCC was named Military Friendly(R) School - Gold and Military Spouse Friendly(R) School.
Institutions earning the Military Friendly(R) School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2024-2025 survey with 537 earning special awards for going above the standard.
The 2024-2025 Military Friendly(R) Schools list will be published in the May and October issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.
Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Viqtory with input from the Military Friendly(R) Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community.
Final ratings were determined by combining the institution's survey scores with the assessment of the institution's ability to meet thresholds for Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Loan Repayment, Persistence (Degree Advancement or Transfer) and Loan Default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
"Central Carolina is committed to providing the best possible service to our military families," said Dr. Lisa M. Chapman, Central Carolina Community College President. "We recognize the sacrifice they make in support of our freedom and safety and we value their success as CCCC students. We value what their success means to them, to the college, and to the communities we serve. With that in mind, I am extremely thankful to the college teams that work to support our active duty members, our veterans and their families, as recognized by these Military Friendly(R) and Military Spouse Friendly(R) designations. My thanks to all involved!"
"A community college is a great bridge between military life and civilian life. I feel it is important that we support and encourage all of our military affiliated students during their time here at Central Carolina Community College. This includes active duty, veterans, spouses and their children," said Angie Estes, CCCC Veterans Affairs Coordinator. "It is a privilege to work with these students every day. Getting to help guide them through their journey is the most rewarding part of my job. Receiving this distinction shows we are doing things right. It also lets those looking to find a school to attend that CCCC is definitely a place they should explore."
"Military Friendly(R) is committed to transparency and providing consistent data-driven standards in our designation process. Our standards provide a benchmark that promotes positive outcomes and support services that better the educational landscape and provide opportunity for the Military Community. This creates a competitive atmosphere that encourages Institutions to evolve and invest in their programs consistently. Schools who achieve awards designation show true commitment in their efforts, going over and above that standard," said Kayla Lopez, National Director of Military Partnerships, Military Friendly(R).
