SANFORD, N.C. - Jennifer Babb has received the Central Carolina Community College Cougar Champion of the Year Award for 2023-2024. She is CCCC Assistant Director of Student Onboarding and Success (Lee County).
This award is intended to show appreciation and recognize individuals for exceptional contributions and customer service inside or outside of their departments. The full-time employees who win the monthly award are then eligible to be recognized as Cougar Champion of the Year.
Babb lives out the mission of the college in her everyday work and understands the importance of putting students at the center of her work. She is described by her coworkers as organized, detail-oriented, enthusiastic, cheerful, and professional -- if a student needs something, she will come early, stay late or do whatever is needed to make sure that the student gets help.
"It is not uncommon for other CCCC staff members to seek Jennifer out; if there is a special project, training, assistance is needed with an event, or even speaking to other institutions about what we do at CCCC, she is willing to assist as she has a heart for service," said Scott Byington, CCCC Associate Vice President, Onboarding and Advising.
"She collaborates with other departments and supports colleagues, she is always seeking ways for the college to improve, and she is a great example of how CCCC works to put students first. Her enthusiasm is infectious, her dedication is obvious. She loves what she does and it shows," said Byington.
