CCCC's Amy Berrier-Gerber receives SASFAA Distinguished Service Award

SANFORD - Amy Berrier-Gerber, Central Carolina Community College Associate Director of Financial Aid, received the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SASFAA) Distinguished Service Award at the organization's annual conference in Montgomery, Ala. The award is the highest honor bestowed by the organization, given to individuals who have made outstanding, significant, and meritorious contributions to the advancement of student financial aid or the profession.

Berrier-Gerber, who served as president of SASFAA in 2015-2016, was presented the award by SASFAA President Celena Tulloss, of the University of Tennessee.

"I was very honored to be recognized by SASFAA Board of Directors and membership with the Distinguished Service Award at our recent 2022 Annual Conference in Montgomery, Ala.," said Berrier-Gerber. "I love working with students, faculty, and college administrators. I want to continue making an impact in the lives of others, especially at Central Carolina Community College, for many years to come."

Berrier-Gerber has spent over 27 years in the financial aid industry. She worked at High Point University from 1995 to 2000 as a Financial Aid Counselor and Assistant Director of Financial Aid. She was employed at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as the Assistant Director for Operations from 2000 to 2020. Berrier-Gerber joined the CCCC family as the Associate Director of Financial Aid in September 2020.

Berrier-Gerber served as President of North Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NCASFAA) from 2008-2009 and President from 2015-2016. She served as a member of the Board of Directors of National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) from 2017-2018. In addition to serving in many leadership and committee roles for the financial aid associations, she is also a recipient of the NCASFAA Award of Merit (2006), the NCASFAA Distinguished Service Award (2012), and the NASFAA Regional Leadership Award (2019).
