SANFORD - "First Class Opportunity. Leading Workforce Partner."
That was the message delivered by Central Carolina Community College President Dr. Lisa M. Chapman and college staff to area legislators during a Legislative Delegation Breakfast on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic & Conference Center.
Attending either in person or virtually were the area legislative delegation, along with business and industry partners, area economic development officials, as well as members of the CCCC Board of Trustees and various college staff.
The presentation included a show of various partnerships - K-12, University, Community, State-Level, and Regional - as well as Local Industry & Economic Development Partners and New Industry & Economic Development Partners.
Of particular excitement is the future E. Eugene Moore Manufacturing and Biotech Solutions Center, which is being named in honor of alumnus E. Eugene Moore. The Center will be located at the former Magneti Marelli facility. "This Center will enhance our response to expanding and relocating company needs - whether it's customized training, general educational programming, temporary work space, or other resources, the E. Eugene In addition, CCCC is currently working toward a new program - NAVIGATE - to improve the college experience through enhanced admissions, onboarding, and advising processes. The program will increase the number of students who successfully enroll, ensure they have substantive career conversations that align with their goals, and increase completion through high quality faculty advising.
