CCCC Men's Cross Country
The Central Carolina Community College men's cross country team won the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region X Cross Country Championships Division III at the Smith River Cross Country Sports Complex in Axton, Va., on Saturday, Oct. 30.
CCCC finished ahead of Southwest Virginia Community College and Patrick & Henry Community College.
Top CCCC runners (with high school and hometowns listed) were 1. Britt Lehman (Jordan-Matthews H.S., Siler City), 2. Kyle Howarth (Woods Charter School, Mebane), 5. Gabriel Lenz (Lee Christian School, Sanford), 7. Kevin Cole (Grace Christian School, Sanford), 12. Colby Day (Cape Hatteras Secondary School, Frisco), 17. Eddy Giron Dominguez (Jordan-Matthews H.S., Siler City).
Coach Richard Briggs' CCCC team will next participate in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III National Championship on Saturday, Nov. 13, at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, Ga.
CCCC Women's Cross Country
The CCCC women's cross country team won the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region X Cross Country Championships Division III at the Smith River Cross Country Sports Complex in Axton, Va., on Saturday, Oct. 30.
Top CCCC runners (with high schools and hometowns listed) were 1. Bersai Perez (Lee County H.S., Sanford), 2. Kimberly Castro Vasquez (Harnett Central H.S., Lillington), 4. Emilie Obregon (Triton H.S., Dunn), 6. Charmaine Robison (Lumberton H.S., Lumberton), 8. Angelika Adriano (Pinecrest H.S., Aberdeen).
