SANFORD - The Central Carolina Community College volleyball team defeated Southwest Virginia Community College 3-0 on Saturday (Oct. 16) to win its fifth straight match and secure the No. 2 seed for the upcoming National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 10 Tournament to be played at Sandhills Community College.
Coach Bill Carter's CCCC team will face Southwest Virginia at 1 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 23) in the tournament semifinals. Sandhills is the top seed and will host the winner of the Patrick & Henry Community College and Rockingham Community College match at 11 a.m. in the other semifinal match. The Region Championship match will be played at 3 p.m.
